Seed
There’s billions and billions of women in this world, no matter the race all women begun life as a baby girl. Innocent, free of sin, and brand new. Most people treat something new valuable and delicate. There are others who disregard the nourishment needed to make sure that baby girl grows to her full potential. I’d like to think of new life like a seed that’ll eventually blossom into a flower. Just like any flower it requires adequate care to reach it’s full blossomy potential, but what happens when that seed is placed in the care of irresponsible people?
The growth is compromised in this sense; compromised by child predators and rapist that linger around children as well as the people who protect those predators. In some sad cases, the woman(seed) never gets to grow figuratively and literally. Figuratively women stop growing emotionally, mentally and spiritually we disconnected ourselves from the world just as the ones who should have protected us have disconnected from us. Literally women never get to grow beyond their pain because they commit suicide or become suicidal behind it.
The symbolization of the hand covered the mouth means so much to me because it speaks volumes of a woman who has lost her ability to speak. Rather if she needed to speak up for herself or someone else.
You’ll know if a seed is growing based upon it’s growth within a few days to a week. If the root doesn’t form from the soil, it gives an indication of some type of interference and lack of supply that is needed to grow. Everything from that point will begin to die.
The root, the part of a plant or flower that ensures it’s necessities to grow. Our parents, aunties, uncles, grandparents, big sisters, brothers and godparents etc are our root of life. They’re a reflection of our life line; better yet, of where we come from. There are women who are fortunate to have those roots then there’s women like me; more like a tree who have it’s seasons.
A seed with tainted soil that never got the nourishment from the roots I was born with. Instead we have different kinds of seeds planted in us that threatens our growth such as violation, manipulation and gullible to life’s vultures. Especially the ones that is let into our homes a place founded on safety and authenticity. When did families decide to normalize rape and pedophilia? Why are people OK with protecting a child molester/rapist? Why are mothers picking their spouse, dad, or relative over their child’s well-being?
There’s nothing worst than allowing the pain you’ve suffered go unnoticed, talked about or brought to justice. It have the ability to slowly kill you from the inside out. As long as you're silent you're allowing your abuser to live free as you remain a prisoner to your pain. YOUR VOICE MATTERS. YOUR INNER PEACE MATTERS. Over the years I’ve noticed that there are some rapist who are dangerous then there are those who's really a pussy. There’s no other way to explain it. Yes, rapist with the ability to kill are dangerous, but you have men who only feel emancipated when he have sense of control of a woman or child’s life. A pussy or for lack of a better term a coward. Some of those men are our fathers, uncles, step-dads, a relative and even a stranger. People who's aware of your weaknesses and the probability of being caught. They seem harmless but they're truly preying snakes that invade your space with a haunting hiss that manipulates your sense of safety.
I’ve said that to say whatever they’ve said to you that have ensured your silence is now obsolete. Own your responsibility of ensuring your roots are gaining the correct amount of nourishment to blossom into the unique flower you were placed here to be. Break the cycle by being the root for your children. It’s time to become that tree whose live through the seasons. Allow those leaves to change colors in the midst of the fall. Allow it to make your flowers grow. There will be times when you’re feeling cold like winter, but always be as fierce as the summer. Climate is something we can’t control, but we can control how we grow through it.
